Hi, I'm Sofya (ⵙⵓⴼⵢⴰ)!

I’m a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso, where I research robotic dexterous manipulation. My work focuses on developing control strategies and mechanical systems that allow robots to interact with complex, unstructured environments.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in General Engineering with a minor in Artificial Intelligence from Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. I previously completed an academic year abroad both at Technical University of Ostrava in Czech Republic and University of Malaya in Malaysia respectively.

Outside of research, I enjoy hiking, exploring different cultures through traveling, and practicing martial arts, particularly Taekwondo and kickboxing.

I’m always open to collaboration and new research opportunities — feel free to reach out.

Languages I speak:
Tamazight (native), Arabic (native), French (fluent), English (fluent), Spanish (beginner)
